It's painted and finished with a hand-applied patina to create an aged effect, as well as a protective lacquer.

Grade B - Brand New in original box - Overall in good presentable condition with a number of light cosmetic imperfections. The top surface has various light marks, most of which are only visible in certain lighting. There are two light scratches to the top of one drawer front, minor damage to one drawer runner track, and a small paint defect inside one of the lower drawers on the inner front face. All imperfections are clearly shown in the photographs.
